In the episode, Thomas Lindy Nissen follows Daniel Smith stalking roebucks in the rut. Over a couple of days, Daniel stalks the beautiful Dorset landscape on his own farm. In the chase of an old buck, he calls in some young bucks. Promising bucks are left for later seasons while not as promising animals are taken out. On the last day, he takes out one of his daughters as companionship for the stalk – which results in a memorable day for them both.
