The Shooting Show – Skye stags and the Browning B725

On a remote section of terrain on the isle of Skye, Scott Mackenzie braves the typical Scottish weather in pursuit of a red stag for the cull. He’s got a new Merkel RX Helix, a Swarovski Z4 scope, Geco ammo and Deerhunter clothing – but he’ll still need all the luck in the world on a stalking ground that offers next to no cover and in near-horizontal rain. A two-day stalk follows, and there’s no guarantee of success at the end of it.

In kinder conditions, Clay Shooting editor Wes Stanton has been tasked with bringing you a Shooting Show shotgun review, and he has the Browning B725 grade 5 on hand to accomplish the task. Taking it to Edgehill Shooting Ground, he puts it through its paces the way he knows best – by smashing a few clays, and then a few more.
